Cookie Policy

Last updated: 21 August 2026 · Version 1.0

We don't use tracking cookies. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics, and no third-party trackers on OriKcal. That is why you never see a cookie consent banner here — there is nothing to consent to.

We do store a few small items in your browser's local storage, which is what keeps you signed in and remembers your settings. This page lists every one of them.

Cookies vs. local storage

Cookies are sent to a server with every request, which is what makes them useful for tracking people across websites. Local storage never leaves your device — it is read only by the OriKcal page running in your browser. We use local storage, not cookies.

What the website stores

On orikcal.com:

NamePurposeKept until
orikcal_site_lang Remembers the language you chose, so you don't reselect it every visit You clear your browser data
orikcal_site_theme Remembers the colour theme you picked You clear your browser data
orikcal_promo_dismissed Remembers that you closed the banner at the top, so it stays closed You clear your browser data

What the app stores

On app.orikcal.com:

NamePurposeKept until
orikcal_token Your sign-in token. This is what keeps you logged in — without it you would re-enter your password on every visit You sign out, or the session expires
orical_v1 A local copy of your settings and recent meals, so the app opens instantly and works briefly offline You sign out or delete your account
orikcal_install_dismissed Remembers that you dismissed the "add to home screen" prompt, so it stops asking 30 days

All of these are strictly necessary or preference items: they exist to make the service work and to remember choices you made. None of them track you, profile you, or follow you to other websites.

Third parties

  • Stripe — when you go to the payment page, Stripe sets its own cookies to process the transaction and prevent fraud. That happens on Stripe's page, under Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts — the app loads typefaces from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. No cookie is set by us for this.

Your control

You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings — usually under "Clear browsing data" or "Site settings". Clearing it will sign you out of OriKcal and reset your language and theme choices, but no meal data is lost: your logs are stored in your account and will reload when you sign in again.

Signing out of OriKcal also removes your token and cached data from the device.

Changes

If we ever add analytics or any cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will update this page and ask for your consent first.
